How to Install HP Printer Driver
If you have HP printer and you need to reinstall driver for it, you can do it in following steps:
Step 1: Connect the printer
Try connecting the printer to gain access to Printer Assistant tools.
- On the window that appears, click on Connect a new printer.
- You need to select the connection type,when it is prompted, then go on to follow the on-screen instructions to setup the printer.
- Click on Retry, if a red X displays and the connection fails,then continue to the next step.

Step 3: After uninstalling the software, download and reinstall the latest driver from the HP website
- Turn on the printer.
- If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Go to HP Customer Support- Software and driver downloads.
- Select a method to look for your printer model,if prompted, and then go on with the on-screen instructions to go to the download page.
- Now, all you need to do is click Download next to the full feature driver (recommended), or click Basic Drivers for other driver options.
Step 4: After reinstalling the driver,restart the computer and the printer to finish setting up the software
- Before reinstalling the driver, turn off the printer.
- All you need to do is now, close all running programs on your computer, then restart your computer.
- After restarting your computer, turn on the printer.
- If your printer is turned on, open HP Printer Assistant.
- If your Printer Assistant is getting opened, the issue is resolved.
- If you are unable to open Printer Assistant, and the Printer Setup & Software screen displays, connect the printer again, then restart the printer and computer to complete the installation.
